Check Point offers new security systems

Check Point Software Technologies has announced two new security appliances and a security solution for businesses, as it expects the market to grow by 20 per cent this year.
Thananunt Maneekul, Thailand sales manager for the company, said it was introducing the Check Point 61000 and Check Point 21400 security systems, as well as its R75.20 security solution.

Check Point says its 61000 security system offers scalable performance for data centres, telecommunications and cloud-service providers, with a multi-bladed hardware platform. It combines security technologies to control network access and protect against sophisticated attacks.

It also brings to market a platform for three-dimensional security that enables businesses to protect against the rise of blended threats in high-speed environments.

Meanwhile, Check Point 21400 is designed to optimise a full range of software blade protections, providing large enterprises and data centres with security and performance.

Check Point's R75.20 solution defines security as a business process by combining policies, people and enforcement for protection across all layers of security, the company says.

John Ong, the company's regional director for South Asia, said Thailand was a growing market and the firm expected it to generate about 17 per cent of its revenue this year.

The new products will focus on private enterprises, telecoms, government, and the financial and banking industries.

Ong said some of the drivers of business growth in this sector were a maturing customer mindset towards information-technology security, technology convergence behind security, increasing sophistication of threats, and local customers' keenness to adopt new high-end models.

Other drivers are new technologies such as cloud computing, consolidation virtualisation, mobile applications and media tablets, as well as Web2.0 social technologies and communications.
